Affirmations Bible Verse Card Deck

I partnered with Chester Christian Center (CCC) to design and produce an effective and easily digestible teaching solution for a foster ministry outreach event.

CCC regularly volunteers with Geauga Job and Family Services to reach kids and young adults who have grown up in foster care. During the holidays, many lack a "traditional" family environment that others look forward to. For December 2023, CCC planned a holiday party where kids could enjoy dinner, games, gifts, and holiday spirit. They also wanted to provide affirmations and a sense of love that can last long after the event.

I worked with CCC leaders to brainstorm and design an artistic presentation of a series of thematic Bible verses. The goal was to create a small "stocking stuffer" that can be easily set aside during gift-opening while also being eye-catching enough to not find its way into the trash. The emphasis was on interactivity and presentation, turning what could have been a "reading assignment" into organic learning.

The solution was a miniature card deck, each card with its own Bible verse. I designed each card, including a cover and back pattern inspired by a traditional deck of cards. The cards were professionally printed onto thick, laminated cardstock, after which CCC leaders and I assembled the decks and attached them to small keychains.

This year, another batch of cards will be printed in anticipation of many new faces at the December 2025 foster get-together.
